about
Mercenary Records are proud to announce the release of ‘Old Man Superman’ by Brendan Tallon, which represents the first ever solo offering by the former Revelino and Saturday Captains front man.
The song ‘Old Man Superman’ was inspired by the actions of one Yasutera Yamada and the members of the ‘Skilled Veterans Corps’. As retired veteran engineers and scientists, they volunteered to enter the Fukushima power plant in Japan following the nuclear disaster in 2011, with the purpose of shutting it down and delivering a damage report. They logically proposed, quite naturally to them, that the older veterans should tackle the aftermath rather than younger staff who had young families and still had their lives ahead of them.
Brendan Tallon’s first solo album ‘Love in these times’ will be released later this year on vinyl and digital download via Bandcamp.
lyrics
Old Man Superman
He doesn't look much like a superhero
Five foot two, seventy one, from Tokyo
And all day long he's tending flowers
Logic was his superpower
Air goes boom, he’ll be here soon
Air goes boom, he’ll be here
Accident at the power stat - ion
Send in Grandfathers of the nation
Cause it's not a job for a younger man to do
It’s like a one way ticket to the moon
Air goes boom, he’ll be here soon
Air goes boom, he’ll be here
The little man with the big ide - a
I see you are a non-believer
But what he said was only logic
and the sound he made was supersonic
Air goes boom, he’s in the
air goes boom, he’ll be here
Air goes boom, he’s in the
air goes boom, he’ll be here
